If you would like to turn your backyard into an oasis there are many things you can do. Two of these things is to install a pool and a hot tub. This allows your family to have a nice, cool place to enjoy when the weather is hot and gives you a place to relax in your hot tub. Below is some information about each of these so you can decide if you would like to put them in your backyard oasis.

Install an Inground Pool

If you choose to install an inground pool, you will need to decide if you want a concrete, fiberglass, or vinyl liner. The least expensive type is a vinyl liner, but most people today use concrete. This is because concrete liners are durable and can be used no matter the size or shape of the pool.

Fiberglass liners are also durable, but the liner can crack over time. The surface of fiberglass is nonporous, which means algae will not build up on the pool walls. You do have a limited number of sizes and shapes for fiberglass. If you are installing a standard sized pool, fiberglass would work well.

Once you decide on the liner, you have to determine if you want a saltwater or chlorine pool. Many pools today use chlorine because you can easily clean the water from algae and other bacteria by applying chlorine in either liquid or tablet form.

Salt water pools are becoming more popular, however. With saltwater pools, you do not have to add chlorine because chlorine naturally comes from the salt.

Install a Hot Tub

Hot tubs are great to soothe sore muscles and relax. The most common type of hot tub you will find is aboveground. This type is generally made from acrylic that is backed by either plastic or fiberglass. You must have access to an electrical outlet because these hot tubs plug into an outlet. Even though an above the ground hot tub is heavy, if you empty it of water you can move it.

Inground hot tubs are also available and are the most expensive. If you choose this a good time to do it is when you have your pool installed if this is where you want the hot tub. The main drawback of this type of hot tub is you cannot move it.

Inground hot tubs are made of either concrete or gunite. If you do not like the look of either of these materials you can find hot tubs that have decorative tile over the over the concrete or gunite. If you do not want to power the hot tub with electricity, you can purchase one that is powered via a gas heater.

Talk with a pool company about inground pools and hot tubs for sale. They can give you much more information about the different types, as well as the installation process.
